I read a very sad story in some local newpaper today:
Police caught an 52 year old man wandering naked along Soi Buakhao, Pattaya. He was talking to himself, carrying old and worthless scrap paper thinking it was money. Some people recognizes the language. It was german.
He constantly repeated that he will win back his darling with this money and all will turn out to a happy ending.
When the police men tried to get him, he got angry and started to fight but they could calm him down and he starts to moan about his love again. Thai people felt so pity with him they started to collect money. The whole sum (about 1800 Baht) was put beside him at he police car.
He was brought to Jomtien to the immigration office.
Are ghost from the Tsunami still talked about in Thailand? - When I was last in Phuket in January 2011 it was still talked about but not much. Some people are still very disturbed about what happened. There was one lady who walked around talking to herself acting rather crazy and all the local Thai people said she was crazy because she haunted by the tsunami ghosts. She was never the same after the tsunami apparently.
I made the experience that under the surface things had changed after this incident. It was in Thailand when the tsunami came across the country. It was all a big shock and many people will be haunted in a psychological way. Maybe the belief in ghost can help, maybe it makes it worse. I do not know
well, take a look of an uncencored opinion about Thailand that is not known in public. But in a land of freedom free speech and free opinion is fundamental for democracy. So this is ok to watch to build your own opinion
